In 2021, with support from the Pop Culture Collaborative, the Norman Lear Center's Media Impact Project created our first network mapping survey of the Pop Culture for Social Change (PCfSC) field. Connections and Accomplishments: A 2021 Pop Culture for Social Change Network Analysis is our first-ever “state of the field” report, serving as an essential, data-informed baseline for mapping, understanding and witnessing the evolution of the PCfSC field.

The Norman Lear Center's Media Impact Project researches how entertainment and news influence our thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, knowledge and actions. We work with researchers, the film and TV industry, nonprofits, and news organizations, and share our research with the public. We are part of the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
